Please help us learn what helps children gain new skills in the years after cardiac arrest.
We would like to continue learning about your child and family over the next few years.
Who: Participants and caregivers who participated in P-ICECAP
What: Caregivers will be asked to complete 8 brief electronic surveys and participate in up to 2 telephone interviews over 3 years. Children 6 years and older, who are able to communicate in English, will be asked to complete a remote video evaluation of thinking skills.
Where: All aspects of this study will be conducted remotely. There are no office visits.
When: Telephone interviews will occur around 2 and 4 years after your child’s cardiac arrest. Electronic surveys will be sent by email or text periodically over time until about 4 years after your child’s cardiac arrest. Remote evaluation of your child may occur once, when your child is at least 6 years old.
Why: This extension of the P-ICECAP study will allow us to identify factors that help children and families make gains in the years after a cardiac arrest. We hope to learn how to help other children and families have the best outcomes after cardiac arrest.
What else: You will receive gift cards to compensate you for your time. You will receive $20 for each electronic survey you complete and $75 for each telephone interview and/or child’s testing session.
